Welcome to

Great Casterton CE Primary School

Week 11

Monday 22nd June

Welcome to Monday morning,

I hope you enjoyed your weekend, and what an exciting week ahead for some of us. I'm really looking forward to Year 2's returning on Thursday and Friday, but I have still put home learning on for those of you who aren't coming back yet, or because I know 2 days of learning won't be enough for any of you who are back! Please feel free to pick and choose what suits you, and of course you can still email me via the office. I may not do daily updates now, but will still try and write as and when I can. ( I may need a few extra naps in the evening with four days of teaching!!).

It's going to be a sunny week, so don't forget hats and sun cream because I know we'll be having lots of fun outside.

Take care

Mrs Wood

Tuesday 22nd June

We had a lovely day in school yesterday. It's great to see everyone outside having fun in their groups, and fantastic to see the Year 3s back for the first time since March. They all looked pleased to see their friends. The Year 6s looked amazing in their new leavers hoodies too.

Kia's still keeping busy so take a look at the photos of his work below. He's done a book review on a book called Dunkin Duncan, made a game of Snakes and Ladders and written a postcard. Phew!

Remember to stay safe in the sun and don't spend too long in the paddling pool!

Wednesday 24th June

Happy Birthday to Gabe today. We hope you have a lovely day, and look forward to hearing all about it on Monday.

Wow! another birthday. Nearly all the Year 1s are now 6, and our youngest Year 1 only has 2 more sleeps to go, I bet you're getting excited now Calvin?

A very lovely, but hot day in school yesterday. Fantastic to have Evelyn with us, and I know everyone was really excited to see her. I'm starting to get quite excited for Thursday and am planning some super hard work for the returning Year 2s!! It's going to be a hot day so don't forget to bring your hat. We might find a little time to go and outside and play inbetween all the hard work!  wink

Enjoy your day

Friday 26th June

Happy birthday to Calvin today. We hope you have a great day and I look forward to hearing all about it on Monday. That's the last of the birthdays in Class 1 for this school year.

What a lovely day in school yesterday. I think we all had a nice time; there were definitely lots of smiles! It was very hot and by the afternoon I think we were all melting but we got through and back for round 2 today.

Esther enjoyed using the new Kapla construction and had a go at making the same house that Charlie made, carefully following the instructions. Have a look at the photo below. Everyone was excited to play in the sand tray, although I think the Year 2s were far messier than the Year 1s!

I hope you all have a nice weekend and l can't wait to see some of you again on Monday.
