Monday 29th June
Welcome to the start of another week! I don't think it's going to be quite as hot and sunny this week, but I'm sure we will still be able to get outside for some fun.
I hope you managed to keep busy this weekend. I did a spot of gardening but mostly enjoyed a nice restful weekend after a busy week. I'm looking forward to seeing lots of you in school again this week, and for those of you who aren't in yet it would be lovely to hear what you are up to. We had a lovely visit from Joshua on Friday, and we were all really pleased to see him. He sent me some fantastic photos too, so I have added one below for you to share.
I've added this weeks home learning, but I know if you are in school you might not have time to do it all. As always, pick and choose what suits you. If you are in school and would like a paper home learning pack, don't forget to let me or the office know and we can send those home on Tuesday (year 1) or Friday (year 2 for the following week).
Tuesday 30th June
Brrr! What a cold day yesterday. It was so chilly and so windy we couldn't use our outdoor area as everything kept blowing away. We still had fun though, and the Year 1s made some great clay turtles. I think we might do this on Thursday too Year 2s.
Have a good day today
Friday 3rd July
Happy Friday everyone,
What a busy day yesterday. The Year 2s did some spellings, learnt about 2d and 3d shapes, wrote statements about ocean animals, read and then made turtles out of clay. As well as that, they also got to do lots of playing with their friends, made loads of mess and noise and got to have a lovely chat with Mrs Petrie. She was desperate to meet them all properly and tell them a little bit about how much fun they will have in year 3. Normally we would be having our transition days where the children and teachers get to meet each other properly, but as this isn't possible at the moment we are trying to make sure we still have time to chat and ask any questions. Mrs Petrie was very impressed with you Year 2s, and she said how lovely you were!
The Year 1 children had a social distanced story outside alongside Mrs Hughes' children this week. This allowed us to spend time together, introduce ourselves and answer any questions they might have about coming to Year 1. It was very exciting thinking that soon they would become the older members of the class.
If you do have any worries about next year please do speak to me (parents or children) as I'm sure I will be able to put your mind at rest.
Have a good day today and enjoy your weekend.
P.S. Joshua has been busy - take a look at his photos!
