World Book Day
Every year World Book Day is a time when the joy of reading is celebrated in schools and homes. This year things are slightly different and most children won’t be in school on Thursday 4th March.
The World Book Day website has lots of different activities and resources for families to take part in at home, so is definitely worth a look. I have included some links below that I think may be of interest to KS1 children. If there are any parents or grandparents who would like to read a story to the children on Teams 1st - 5th March please let me know. It would be lovely for the children to experience other people reading to them, and I’m sure they would feel very proud and excited if their mummy or daddy read to their class.
Usually, we would dress up on this day and please feel free to still do this at home if you wish; however I think it would be lovely if we still got to do this in school altogether. Thursday 11th March is going to be a day of reading celebration in our class. If your child would like to come dressed up as a book character that would be great, or if they would just like to wear their own clothes that is fine too. Please don’t feel you need to buy an amazing outfit, or go to lots of trouble to enjoy this day. My aim is just to have fun, and enjoy lots of reading/book activities together.
